The successful candidate will report to the Head: Product & Solutions East Africa and will be responsible for, inter alia, the following:
Key Responsibility: Presales & Solution Architecting
Core Tasks:
- Solution Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling product demonstrations and presentations that showcase Seacom's offerings and address the customer's pain points effectively.
- Proposal Development: Collaborate with the sales team to create detailed proposals and respond to Request for Proposals (RFPs) with accurate and customized technical solutions.
- Technical Consultation: Act as a trusted advisor to customers, offering technical insights and recommendations to solve complex business challenges.
- Proof of Concept (PoC) Support: Facilitate and manage PoC engagements, ensuring the successful implementation of the solution and demonstrating its value to the customer.
- Deployment and support of Seacom solutions, working alongside the dedicated service delivery team to ensure seamless implementation and exceptional customer support.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, implementation guides, and best practices, to support the deployment and ongoing management of solutions.
- Ensure quality assurance of all solutions prior to submission:
- Scope accuracy
- Costing integrity
- Technical compliance
- Enforce adherence to solution design and approval processes
- Ensure structured handover to Service Delivery teams:
- Clear scope definition
- Documented solution design
- Alignment on customer expectations
Key Responsibility: Vendor Management
Core Tasks:
- Generate sales opportunities within defined Key Customers/Territories
- Vendor and Technology Evaluation: Research and evaluate third-party technologies and vendors to identify the best-fit solutions for specific customer requirements. Key focus areas include networking, cloud & security. Specific OEMs include but not limited to Cisco, Fortinet, Zscaler, Microsoft, AWS etc.
- Competitive Analysis: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and competitors' offerings to provide insights on positioning the managed services effectively including potential product differentiators.
- Developing relationships and capabilities with 3rd party suppliers across Seacom market territories as required to support assigned products. This includes pursuing relevant certifications to ensure OEM partnership status is retained.
- Engage OEMs for:
- Pricing and commercial support
- Deal registration
- Technical validation and certifications
Key Responsibility: Performance Tracking and Reporting

Key Responsibility: Relationship Building
Core Tasks:
- Collaboration with Internal Teams: Work closely with the engineering, product management, and operations teams to ensure the proposed solutions are feasible and align with Seacom's capabilities.
- Customer Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, becoming a trusted technical point of contact.
Key Responsibility: Product & Solution Management
Core Tasks:
- Assist in pricing strategy development and packaging options for new and existing products including identification and assessment of projects that could lead to market growth as well as projects that projects that could reduce cost of products.
- Support product launches and go-to-market activities, including marketing collaterals, sales training, and customer communications.
- Monitor product performance, usage metrics, and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and optimization including pricing readiness, margin analysis, approved T&C’s & training of sales teams.
- As part of the product & solutions team, you will collaborate closely with the engineering team throughout the product development lifecycle, ensuring the timely delivery of features while upholding stringent quality standards.
- Assist product managers in defining and refining the product roadmap based on market research, customer feedback, and business objectives. This includes the development of business cases with stakeholders that leads to a decision.
- Documentation: you will be responsible for preparation and maintenance of detailed product documentation, including specifications, feature descriptions, collateral review for assigned products including T&Cs, training packs, marketing material, rate cards, competitor analysis and other related material and user guides.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously review and enhance existing solution offerings, keeping abreast of emerging technologies and market trends.

EDUCATION:
- Master’s degree (MBA/Technology) and advanced/specialist certifications (Cloud/Security/Networking)
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Exposure to large/complex bid management (RFP/RFI processes)
- Experience in developing product collateral and go-to-market support
- Strong financial modelling and margin optimization capability
- Experience launching and scaling digital service portfolios
- Vendor negotiation and multi-country product ownership experience
- Ability to build business cases, product roadmaps and GTM strategies
- Executive-level engagement and reporting capability
REQUIRED KEY COMPETENCIES/ATTRIBUTES:
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Telecommunications or related field
- Relevant professional certifications (Networking, Cloud, Security)
- 2-5+ years' experience in Product Management, Presales, or Solution Architecture within a Telco, MSP, or System Integrator environment
