JOB DESCRIPTION

The successful candidate will report to the Regional Commercial and Compliance Counsel, and will be responsible for, inter alia, the following:

Key Responsibility: Ensure that new business opportunities are contractually consummated.

Core Tasks:

  • Manage customer due diligence
  • Compile best practice contract templates
  • Review and negotiate external contracts
  • Obtain and co-ordinate the input from internal groups – Sales, Legal, Finance, Operations in order to gain joint approvals for the finalisation of agreements
  • Assist and prepare drafts of all official communication sent to customers
  • Manage vendor registrations for customers and third-party vendor assessments

Key Responsibility: Provide Contract and Negotiation Support to Key Account Management Teams

Core Tasks:

  • Manage commercial order for South Africa and East Africa region
  • Draft, review and prepare the necessary sales contracts
  • Provide input to tender documents, quotations and proposals
  • Ensure that sales proposals and tender documents are completed and approved
  • Negotiate contracts and close deals to achieve annual sales and profitability targets
  • Manage contracts and the contract library
  • Manage and create order forms
  • Manage SFDC from a commercial perspective
  • Manage commercial & contractual statistics and reports
  • Manage and respond to queries from internal and external customers

Key Responsibility: Ensure Compliance with Law, Internal Policies and Procedures.

Core Tasks:

  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers, ensuring a positive experience and high satisfaction levels.
  • Ensure local laws are complied with in contract drafting and review
  • Ensure that account approval are carried out on customers as required by internal corporate governance processes
  • Use the audit recommended tools and systems throughout the contract management process
  • Manage execution of contracts, order forms and other documents in compliance with internal processes
  • Ensure contracts are stored appropriately and for the minimum legislated periods
  • Assist with preparation of correspondence to regulators and customers
  • Facilitate collection and collation of internal data intended for customer queries, audit and regulatory authority requirements and submissions
  • Carry out any other lawful and reasonable instructions as may be given from time to time
  • Manage legal debtors book
  • Engage collaboratively with relevant stakeholders to facilitate and enhance comprehensive compliance and risk management activities pertaining to POPIA and GDPR
  • Ensure adherence to the company’s compliance requirements and take corrective action as required.

Generally do all such things which, although not specifically referred to herein, are necessary and/or required for the due, proper and efficient rendering of the services for the purposes contemplated by this role

EDUCATION:

  • Applicable degree preferably in Law

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • Preferably with 3-5 years experience within the telecommunications industry
  • Experience in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and business agreements
