Forrester used a 32-criterion evaluation to identify the leaders in zero-trust and edge network security. It's a complete assessment of the top vendors in the market, including primary research, questionnaires, demos, briefings and customer reference surveys. These evaluation criteria are based on the following:

• The strength of remote workforce security capabilities, zero-trust principles, network control, management, monitoring, visibility and observability.
• The strength of the vendor’s strategies, such as vision, innovation, roadmap, partners, pricing, flexibility and transparency.
• The vendor’s presence in the market, based on revenue and customer base.

In the recent report, Forrester noted that the leaders differentiate themselves in the market by developing innovative but easy-to-use systems. This helps to balance secure networking with value for money. During their assessment of various vendors from around the world, the following criteria had to be true:

• At least $75 million in annual revenue is attributed to zero-trust technologies.
• At least 30% of revenue must come from outside the vendor’s home region and they must have a point of presence in every continent besides Antarctica.
