SEACOM is a privately owned telecommunications provider to businesses across the African continent. Our extensive infrastructure allows our customers to gain access to our converged telecommunication services and business solutions. We focus on both large enterprises, as well as small to medium-sized businesses.

From undersea cables to an extensive fibre grid, our corporate clients tap into exceptional digital connectivity and services. We pride ourselves on staying ahead of the game when it comes to providing world-class telecommunication services, connectivity, as well as business solutions. SEACOM serves two distinct markets through sub-branches of the company.

Our enterprise and business connectivity services are distributed under the SEACOM Business brand. These corporate solutions include connectivity, cloud and security services. We offer backup and hosting solutions, as well as scalable connectivity and networking that can suit any company, both large or small. Our range of products and services are ideal for enterprises looking to scale up their digital presence, whether it is a large corporation looking to tap into SEACOM’s business-grade fibre network, or a small business in a remote location that requires a wireless internet solution.

SEACOM Wholesale is a service provider of connectivity and transit solutions, including the infrastructure needed for internet service providers (ISPs), global carriers and content delivery networks (CDNs). SEACOM Wholesale deals with infrastructure, transmissions, transit, carrier ethernet and global carrier solutions within South Africa and throughout the continent.

Enterprise connectivity provider

Specifically aimed at large public and private enterprises with over 200 employees, our world-class fibre connectivity ensures that organisations have the best internet connection currently available. Our extensive fibre grid connects all major towns and cities across South Africa, ensuring that our customer’s branches share the same high-quality connectivity no matter where they are situated.

We offer dedicated, high-speed, low latency and uncontended fibre internet. Our fibre lines have a 1:1 contention ratio, which means that each of our clients has its own fibre line which isn’t shared with other users. Our fibre lines are uncapped with no fair usage policy so our clients do not have a limit on how much bandwidth they can use. Our 1:1 contention ratio and uncapped bandwidth are what sets us apart from other internet service providers.

Our corporate fibre internet is an award-winning fibre network that is delivered directly to business premises. We connect our corporate clients to our FTTB (fibre to the business) infrastructure, giving them direct access to a symmetrical fibre line with no usage limits. Our bundled options also include voice services, so enterprises do not need a separate landline provider. We have packages up to 1Gbps that include a single cost-effective installation fee.

We are able to quickly respond to customer needs and changing market conditions, without the hidden costs or red tape that are an unfortunate feature of this industry. SEACOM is an agile company that can quickly tailor-make and deploy new services, commercial models and infrastructure. We are a partner for African businesses, network carriers and service providers.

Converged telecommunication provider

SEACOM owns Africa’s most extensive information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure. This includes multiple undersea cables, as well as an extensive multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) network that stretches across the whole of the African continent. MPLS is a way of controlling the flow of network traffic in order to increase speed and efficiency. With this data-forwarding technology, high performance is ensured because data travels along predetermined paths.

For large enterprises looking for more flexible network management, our software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) is the ideal solution. With SD-WAN, the management and operation of a corporate network is done using centralised software. This software controls the connection, automatically selecting the best route for data traffic.

Companies with multiple branches and/or multiple data centres stand to benefit the most from our SD-WAN network. All computers, servers, and premises are connected, and software is used to determine the fastest route for data to flow. This can be done on hybrid networks, including wireless internet and existing fibre optic lines.

Small to medium-sized businesses without the capital to invest in their own networks can enjoy access to SEACOM’s broadband fibre internet. With this comes a cost-effective, high-speed and reliable connection that is uncapped and unshaped. Off-the-fibre grid customers, such as those living in remote locations, can access our digital infrastructure using SEACOM Business’s wireless internet.

Whether it is via our corporate fibre, wireless internet, or even a dedicated network set up on our owned fibre infrastructure, SEACOM’s converged telecommunication network ensures that businesses across South Africa have access to scalable, affordable and high-performance connectivity.

Provider of business solutions

Our corporate clients can enjoy the benefits of network security and cloud services with local 24/7 technical support. Our cyber security solutions include distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection for enterprises looking to protect their networks from shutdown or interference. DDoS attacks happen when networks are flooded with bots or malware, leading to network overloads and system crashes. Our DDoS Protect services provide on-premise, in-cloud or hybrid solutions that automatically detect and prevent attacks.

Our enhanced email services are a cloud-based email archiving, anti-virus and anti-spam service that protect businesses from malware, spam and phishing attacks. For businesses running their services on the cloud, our endpoint protection ensures that your devices and services have the most advanced antivirus, anti-spyware and firewall protection.

As more businesses move onto the cloud, having excellent security is imperative. Our Cloudworx service allows businesses to connect directly to Cloud Service Providers such as Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services This improves the security and reliability of these cloud service providers, reduces network costs and gives a more consistent network experience.

SEACOM Business’s enterprise-grade fibre is cloud-ready. There are no limits for businesses accessing the cloud, and companies can seamlessly run several business applications on remote clouds.
