The successful candidate will report to the Global Sales Executive and will be responsible for, inter alia, the following:
Key Responsibility: Focused Customer/Territory Engagement Management for Seacom
Core Tasks:
- Gain a thorough understanding of the Customer/Territory and competitive landscape
- Develop & own the Strategic Account Plan for the Customer/Territory
- Define key goals and sales targets per Customer/Territory
- Maintain accurate forecasts & sales reports in Salesforce.com
Key Responsibility: Generate Sales Revenue (Net Cash Flow) for Seacom against agreed targets
Core Tasks:
- Generate sales opportunities within defined Key Customers/Territories
- Achieve monthly targets for new orders, revenue, GP and collections
- Responsible and accountable for deals, sales revenue and profitability (net cash flow)
- Responsible and accountable for building and managing key customer relationships to secure Seacom’s existing and future sales revenue with specific clients
- Grow wallet share by positioning existing and new products including AI, FWA, IPT, IPL, NLD
- Drive retention and churn mitigation with proactive renewals, price strategy and reviews
- Ensure management of customer payments (Debtors days) in collaboration with Credit Control
- Monitor competitive activity and respond with differentiated value propositions and defensible commercial strategies
- Inform product roadmap with market feedback; craft business cases with Finance and Product to support investments
Key Responsibility: Own Key Customer Relationships on behalf of Seacom
Core Tasks:
- Responsible for relationship strategy and coordination of Seacom contacts with the client in alignment with the client relationship strategies
- Lead complex, cross-border deal negotiations (IRU’s, leases, capacity trading)
- Identify key decision makers at the highest levels of the client organization (owners, board, CXO) and manages the involvement of Seacom management in dealing with those
- Build and maintain personal clients’ relationships
- Ensure the first invoice is submitted to the customer
- Coordinate high-quality service delivery and customer experience across pre-sales, provisioning, operations and billing; resolve escalations end-to-end
- Ensure commercial governance and compliance: credit terms, order forms/MSAs, legal T&Cs, export controls/sanctions, and internal approval policies
- Carry out all other reasonable and lawful instructions and generally doing all such things which, although not specifically referred to herein, are necessary and/or required for the due, proper and efficient rendering of the services for the purposes contemplated by this role

EDUCATION:
- (Preferable) Degree/Diploma in Marketing or Business Management or equivalent from recognized Tertiary institution
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
- Sales Methodology (MH, LAMP etc.)
- Complex “Deal Negotiation” Skills
- Strategic Thinking
- 10+ years’ experience in B2B Telecom Sales with 5+ years at a senior level
- Proven track record closing complex deals
- Key Account Management at operational & CXO engagement level
- Strong relationships across the Telecoms industry
- Ability to build strong internal and external relationships at all levels
- Understanding of Sub-marine, Terrestrial & Telecommunications market & technology
- Ability to draft business cases for deals - commercial & technical solution
- Basic Financial Accounting (CAPEX, OPEX, TCO, NPV etc.)
- Knowledge/Experience in Telecommunications industry
